Matt Kahn is a guitarist based in Ocean County, New Jersey. He first began playing guitar at the age of nine years old in Toms River, New Jersey where he grew up. Since then, Matt has kept a busy schedule between New York, Philadelphia and New Jersey, performing his own compositions and as a sideman with acts such as The Chronicles, Atomic Fizz, and Taylor Kelly.

Matt recently graduated the University of the Arts in Philadelphia with a Bachelors in Performance and a minor in Music Education. During his time at University of the Arts, he held the guitar chair for the award-winning “Z” Band and also received the Catherine T. Quaile Memorial Guitar Award. After graduating, he spent the next year as an accompanist on Disney’s collaboration with Camp Stores for their production of Encanto. As an accompanist for Encanto, Matt played to over 100,000 guests over the course of its run on 5th Avenue in Manhattan.

Along with playing legendary venues such as The Stone Pony in New Jersey and Sloppy Joe’s in Key West, Matt has performed pre-shows at Xfinity Live in Pennsylvania with Shorty Long and the Jersey Horns for the late Tom Petty and Neil Diamond. He also performed frequently with Shorty Long during busy summer nights at the Beachcomber in Seaside Heights, NJ. He considers himself a life-long learner and uses his ever-growing knowledge to instruct his students during their private lessons.
